10. Grown-ish
For those who don't know, Grown-ish is a hot new series spin-off from ABC's Black-ish. This comedic series is about Zoey, the oldest daughter who ventures off to college. She is set to discover herself, while meeting new friends alone the way. Throughout the episodes, I noticed there are some unique camera placements.
9. Girl's Trip
The movie Girls Trip, directed by Malcolm D. Lee is the most hilarious film I've seen of all 2017. With that being said, I could watch this numerous times and still laugh until my mouth hurts. This film is about four friends who travel to New Orleans for the Annual Essence Festival. There are many well-known stars in this movie, but Tiffany Haddish, who is the break out star has become one of my favorite comedians. With this film, it gives numerous historic sites of New Orleans, and the overall quality of is phenomenal. This movie is a must for those who haven't seen it.
8. Princess and the Frog
I'm not too big on animated movies, but for this film, I would have to make an exception. The 2009 animated Disney Film Princess and the Frog is based on a girl named Tiana who dreams of opening her own restaurant. She later meets a frog, who just so happens to be a prince. The frog then promises her that with a kiss, her dream of having a restaurant would come true, but it's not that simple. I love that the film caters to the culture of New Orleans. Also, I love the surprising plot twist at the end of Ray's character.
7. Calamity Jane
The 1953 western musical Calamity Jane, starring Doris Day is about a tough woman who surprisingly falls in love with her best friend. Being that this film was made in the 50's, what makes this film my favorite is that the props were well designed.
6. Imitation of Life
The 1959 melodrama film Imitation of Life, directed by Douglas Sirk is about an actress who takes in a black widow and her daughter, Sarah Jane, who throughout her life, tries to pass as a Caucasian girl. I love how this film was directed. Throughout the film, Jane and Annie Johnson characters gave so much emotion. It is believed that having great actors is important to convey a message. Let's not forget the conclusion of the film is emotionally breathtaking.
5. Jayla Korian TV (YouTube)
If I'm not watching television, I'm either on my phone watching YouTube videos, but the most frequent YouTuber I come across is Jayla Korian TV. With her channel, she vlogs her everyday life in New York City. The overall all quality of her videos are well captured. I like that she frequently posts videos, which is hard to come by with some YouTubers. She has over 200,000 subscribers and continues to grow.

4. Pretty Woman
The 1990 romantic- comedy, directed by Garry Marchall is a twisted Cinderella film about a prostitute who is paid to spend the weekend with a wealthy man, to which they both fall in love with each other.
3. Love & Hip-Hop ATL
VH1's "Love and Hip Hop is a docu-soap that takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. This show follows the lives of Hip-hop rappers, singers, wives, girlfriends, baby mothers, and side chicks all in one. The camera crews make it their goal to catch everything under the sun. If you're looking for a great laugh, I assure you, you will be entertained to the max.
2. Housewives of Atlanta
The popular Bravo franchise, The Real Housewives of Atlanta captures women living fabulously in the distinguished parts of Atlanta, Georgia. There are cat-fights, Shade throwing, laughter, and cries all in a one hour show. Not only that, the women give back to charity and run their successful businesses. Through it all, they all find a way to come together. Sometimes!
1. Coming To America
If you're looking for a classic romantic-comedy, then look no further. The 1988 film Coming to America, directed by John Landis is about a prince (Eddie Murphy) who ventures to America to find his wife before he is arranged to be married. What makes this film so unique is that Eddie Murphy plays numerous characters that interact with each other, which at that time gave a neat touch as far as editing goes.
